Last weekend we went to someone's garden to look around.
This is part of the National Garden scheme (http://www.ngs.org.uk/). The garden we went to is at a place called Antrobus. Frandley cottages to be exact.
The place is owned by a very nice couple. They moved in about six years ago. When they moved in, the gardens were just trees and grass. Here are a few pictures of the gardens now.
Walkway though the flower beds
At the end of the garden (overlooks a field)
Hiding the septic tank!
Now thats what I call a pond!
The greenhouse next door to the chicken run.
Suzanna and Betty in the 'wild garden'
A nice little water feature.
They serve tea and cakes and the whole afternoon was a really nice day.
These schemes are run all over the UK. I suspect that there are similar things run in other countries.
Have a look and see if there are any schemes run near you.
