Flaming June! lol

Well it is June. You would not think so with the way the weather has been. We have had a couple of nice weekends, but that’s it and the temps are still generally down.
We went away on holiday to Darley Dale in Derbyshire the last week in May. The holiday was good, but the weather was cold for a lot of it.
Every time we go away, we come home and think of all the ‘clutter’ we have accumulated over the years and wonder why we have it.
The house is far too big for us now that the girls have grown up and left home. We hover over downsizing and I can see that we will do in the near future.
On a personal not, I have been simplifying a lot of the computer ware I have at home and have removed Windows 7 from my laptop and only use Linux on it now. Far less updates!
Photographic wise, not much has happened, but because of the simplifying of computer stuff, I now have some room to start using my darkroom.
I have just bought an old second hand book called ‘How to build your own photographic equipment’ by Dan Lewis.

It cost me 1pence and ¬£2.95 postage lol. Its from the 1990’s but has some interesting cheap project in it(never thought of using a golf ball as a ‘ball head’ before).
I look forward to trying some of the projects.
We have started going to a local board game meeting. We have only been to one meet, but it was good fun. We are using our caravan a lot of weekends, making up for last year when we managed to use it three times the whole year.
Today is the fifth birthday of one of my nieces daughters(Amy). Enclosed is a picture of Courtney (another nieces daughter aged 10) and Amy.

There was a birthday party for Amy at the weekend and a good time was had by all (adults and children).
A friend of mine said that it does you good to be around younger people then yourself as it helps to make you feel ‘better’.
I would agree, it was good to see the simple joy in the children’s eyes at a ‘Bouncy castle’ and jelly and ice cream etc.
It does however easily make you sad thinking of how long ago those simple pleasures were for you!
Health wise, there is not a lot to report. It still get chest pains/hands going a horrible black/worn out etc. etc.
I have an appointment with another specialist at the end of June, but I suspect we will be no further forward.
Work has had it’s ups and downs. Some days it drains me to a worrying level. Other days are not bad, so overall things are improving but at a ‘five steps forward and four steps back’!
