Who am I? Well thats a good question. Who could actually answer that question about yourself?

Well my name is Alan Abbott. I could tell you about my job and my hobbies (work in ICT and have many hobbies), but is that me? Well here's the thing what do we mean 'About me'?

Is this what I do? Do I define myself by my job?  These are the expected answers. For me the answer is no. Do I define myself by my religion? Again for me no.

What about defining myself by my family? Well again not really.

So how do I define myself? Mmm hard one that. Let see if I can have a go.

Alan Abbott is a Shaman. He has a family (Wife called Suzanna,two daughters called Deborah and Lisa). He is very proud of his family and loves them dearly.

Alan works in a local High School as Network Manager. He has had many jobs in ICT over the years and has done many interesting and remarkable things.

What are my religous beliefs? Well thats both easy and hard to answer.

I believe that there is a God. If you call him Allah or God or Budda, Thats just a man made nane for this omnipotent being. Now am I Muslim,Christian, what? None. I was  brought up C of E (Church of England).  However. My beliefs are that ALL religions are man made and whilst parts of all of them have Gods 'words' in them, They also have a lot of 'man made' words in them too!

If you are of a particular faith then the last thing I wish to do is 'dis' your faith.

No these are my beliefs. They are that the message from God has been 'corrupted' by man for his own gain. How can any religion be wealthy when there are so many poor in the world? Some religions have a higher GNP then some small countries!! God loves his children all of them. He gives us 'free will'

But that does not mean its ok to go around harming others!

Anyway enough about my beliefs lol

My hobbies are Photography, philosophy,Caravanning and camping, Bushcraft,films, music,computing (especially retro), gardening and a few others (the list is long enough!).

At the beginning of this 'ramble', I said that I was a Shaman.

What the heck is one of those? Well that one is not quite so easy to explain.

Basically I am a healer. I cannot 'heal myself' (abuse of power!), but I can help heal others.

That does not mean that I go around with 'voodoo dolls' or potions etc. No far from it.

A Shaman is connected to nature, to life itself. They can draw from the 'energy of life' and they can use its power.

In times gone by Shamans were very powerfull people. Next only to the kings.

They helped the King destroy the kings enemies. To bring health and wealth to the Kingdom.

Shamans can be of any relgion, There is no conflict as such.

Modern ones do not go around taking drugs to get into 'trances' to get in touch with the spirit world.

No We chat quite peacfully with all energy all the time. A bird, a plant, a piece of wood.

Have you ever heard someone say ' If only that piecs of furniture could talk, what tales it could tell'? Well to us they do! I 'see' peoples energy. I can tell when someone is ill, well or dying. I can also tell when soneone is expecting (they positivly glow!).

The dying part is a part that is all to familiar to this part of the  Abbott family.

In 2009 We experienced 5 deaths in the family. One car crash, a damaged spine, Swine flu, and the list goes on! Suzanna  lost her Father at the start of the year from cancer.

I lost my mother to cancer in the spring. We nursed her for the last few weeks of her life until she had to go into hospital. Suzanna in between had damaged a disk in her back.

And so it went on… and on and on.

We DID end 2009 with a good note (tempered with the sadness of relatives not being there), with Deborah's Wedding to Mark. This was a very joyous occation.

Mark works with me and as they havn't killed each other one year on, things are looking hopfull lol.

So in the end who am i?

Simple. I am  me!! A complete package, not an isolated part.
